What were your highlights of the past week?

  • Last week was amazing. If I had to give some highlights it would be the following: ~Being with a good priest friend. Fr. Stitt and I have been best of friends for more than 11 years. It was a blessing to catch-up on life and it is always a GREAT thing to see your friend celebrate Mass, preach and bring joy to others. ~Seeing our celebration of Holy Mass from a different perspective. I am pretty happy with the reverence of our servers, quality of our music, participation of our congregation, decorations in our churches etc. Being at the Masses that Fr. Stitt celebrated brought a new perspective…I am proud of where we have come with our celebration of Holy Mass at the 3 parishes. ~The turn out for the parish mission. I was happy that so many of you decided to open yourselves to the talks and rosary procession offered at the Mission. ~The smaller events of the Mission! I think one of the best parts of the Mission, in my eyes, were the smaller events. I enjoyed the opportunity for the Altar Boyz, St. Vincent DePaul, Knights of Columbus, St. Mary’s Student Council and those who attended the Saturday Breakfast to have a personal exchange with our presenter. It made the week busy, but very affirming and effective. Thank you to ALL who provided amazing food and hospitality! ~The St. Mary’s Festival was a true joy! The weather was great and the turnout of parishioners from all three parishes was inspiring. I think there was something for everyone…of all ages! ~The generosity of our parishioners is a true sign of God working in our midst. There were several times last week when I was stopped in my tracks by people’s generosity: Financial gifts, offerings of time, baked goods, cleaning and ministry of presence. Thank you for offering yourself to God! ~The Adoration Chapel sign-up was a success in various ways. We had 252 people who filled out papers for various hours. I am ecstatic! There are 168 hours a week and 336 spots to be filled (2 people per hour)- we are on our way! Last week was a great week. God is among our three parishes in wondrous ways. Please continue to pray with fervent zeal for the conversion of our hearts and lives!
Keep PRAYING for the success of Perpetual Adoration! “We cannot separate our lives from the Eucharist; the moment we do, something breaks. People ask, 'Where do the sisters get the joy and energy to do what they are doing?' The Eucharist involves more than just receiving; it also involves satisfying the hunger of Christ. He says, ' Come to Me.' He is hungry for souls”…Mother Theresa
