What is going on with the Adoration Chapel? Where is it going to be?

  • The Adoration Chapel in underway! The old Happy Daisy Beauty Salon, located next to the St. Mary’s parking lot, is going to be the new Perpetual Adoration Chapel. The building has a bathroom, controlled heating and cooling, a large space for the chapel area. The location, right off of the parking lot, will make the chapel accessible to all adorers. We are going to be making some adjustments to the building: adding a concrete sloped patio for entry access, carpet, tile, paint, lighting, improvements on HVAC, and a partition/wall to divide the entry way from the main body of the chapel. I have obtained an altar, statues, candles and other liturgical items for the chapel. I also obtained a stained glass window of the Good Shepherd. It is a large half circle stained glass piece that will be put into the partition/wall. Thus, the chapel will be named and dedicated- The Perpetual Adoration Chapel of the Good Shepherd. Now, some of you may have heard a bit of zoning talk. The Happy Daisy Beauty Salon was considered a home business, so it was zoned residential. This being the case, we cannot have a public chapel in a residential space without it being re-zoned institutional. All churches are to be zoned in this category. This will take lots of paperwork and a bit of time. A big thanks to Brad Bender and FPBH for helping get these forms taken care of…and a huge thank you to Grant Campbell for the use of the old beauty salon. In the next few weeks you might see individuals from the various parishes working on different aspects of the chapel. I hope to get many people involved in the transformation of this space. It will be a great blessing to our county. Keep praying for this chapel and endeavor. Also begin to think about the specific time slot that you are willing to offer to the Lord. Remember I am asking every Catholic to offer: 1 hour out of 168 hours in a week 52 hours out of 18,980 hours in a year In a few weeks there will be the opportunity to sign up for a committed hour. Please be generous and ready! Keep PRAYING for the success of Perpetual Adoration! “Your faith will help you to realize that it is Jesus Himself who is present in the Blessed Sacrament, waiting for you and calling you to spend one special specific hour with Him each week” - Pope John Paul II
